Leadership Conference for Area College Students Planned at University

Feb 7, 2014

The University of Scranton will host a leadership conference for area college students Saturday, Feb. 22, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the DeNaples Center and the Loyola Science Center. The annual interactive conference, entitled “Ignite,” includes presentations and small group meetings to help college students develop skills needed to become effective leaders on their campuses and in their careers.

The conference will feature keynote presentations by motivational speaker and author Robert Pruitt, who has provided leadership training and development programs throughout the United States, as well as in Ireland, India, China and other countries. He has appeared on CNN and Oprah. His books include “Out of the Box: Sharing the Gift You Are with the World” and “Understanding Male Power and Its Role in Relationships for the NBA.”

The program fee of $25 for non-University of Scranton students includes program materials, lunch and refreshments. The conference is free to University of Scranton students. Pre-registration is required to attend. The registration deadline is Feb. 19.

Last year, more than180 students from institutions throughout Pennsylvania attended the “Ignite” leadership conference.
