Scranton School District Students Get Christmas Surprise

Since the 2016-2017 school year, the University of Scranton has been participating in a community partnership initiative with the Scranton School District to connect Scranton-area students, teachers, and staff to the business community. The University's partner school is McNichols Plaza Elementary School in South Scranton and through this initiative have been able to engage many of the over 400 students who go to school there, ranging from preschool to fifth grade. Some of these activities include science demonstrations, art workshops, and even a field trip to campus.

The University wanted to show our thanks to the students and the school during the holiday season, and did so by providing McNichols Plaza with University of Scranton backpacks so that each child would receive a gift. We look forward to continuing this partnership in the coming year!
