From mindful eating to yoga, faculty and staff at The University of Scranton enjoyed Wellness Day, organized by The Center for Health Education and Wellness (CHEW), on March 13.

According to Cathy Mascelli, assistant director of CHEW, more than 350 employees attended the event.

"People said they had a wonderful time. Employees say they love it every year. There are always new things to learn," said Mascelli. "Despite the challenges because of the snow, the day went off great."

The keynote address, “A Life Worth Living: Balance, Recovery & Positivity" was presented by Kevin McLaughlin, LSW, the chief executive officer at Drug and Alcohol Treatment Services. Rev. Herbert Keller, S.J., introduced the day, noting that it was in line with the University's Jesuit mission and "care for the whole person" or cura personalis.

The program also included Mass, lunch from the Fresh Food Company and a wellness fair with information about health-related topics and health screenings from Student Health Services.
