Student Political Dialogue April 9 on Guns

As part of an ongoing civic engagement initiative coordinated by a broad campus planning group, the University is hosting a series of three student dialogue sessions this semester. The next one is on Monday, April 9 and the topic is Guns and the last one is on Wed. April 25 and the topic is Immigration.  Each session will be held from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m.

Students of varied political perspectives and backgrounds are invited to engage and encounter each other's experiences and views to focus on sharing and listening, not persuasion through structured dialogue sessions to build better understanding and seek areas of common ground.

At each session, students will have a chance to:
* Talk about the experiences, values, hopes and concerns that shape your political beliefs based on the Essential Partners method of reflective, structured dialogue
* Learn to apply principles of Ignatian discernment and dialogue in keeping with our Catholic and Jesuit mission

Registration is required. Students should contact Jessica Durkin at Jessica.durkin@scranton.edu or
570-941-4419.
