Lackawanna Arts Fest - Aug. 4!

Lackawanna County and ScrantonMade will host the 6th annual Lackawanna County Arts Festival (formerly known as Arts on the Square) on Saturday, Aug. 4, 2018, from noon to 8 p.m. at Courthouse Square in Scranton. As a celebration of the area’s local artists and creative entrepreneurs, it will feature over 150 artists, live music, and interactive art experiences.

ScrantonMade holds events each year such as Arts Fest in the summer and Holiday Market in the winter in hopes of igniting excitement for the arts as well as support for the thriving local arts community. What is especially unique about this year’s Arts Fest is that it will be held on the same weekend as First Friday and the 14th Annual Scranton Jazz Festival, creating a huge arts and music weekend in Scranton.

Here are a few of the many talented artists and creatives to look out for at this year’s Lackawanna Arts Fest: 

  • Recipe Poetry Project with Laurel Radzieski:

Laurel Radzieski is a Scranton native and poet whose works have appeared in Really System, inskscral, and other publications. Visitors who stop to chat with Scranton native and poet Laurel Radzieski for a few minutes will walk away with a personalized poem! She will also have her poetry books for sale, including her debut poetry collection, Red Mother.

  • Spirited Art Scranton:

Spirited Art Scranton is studio that offers painting classes in Dickson City and on location. A longtime favorite at ScrantonMade events, they are offering free walk-up painting sessions at the festival again this year.
