Laughter Workshop to be Held

Oct 23, 2008

Jeannine Luby thinks everyone needs a good laugh. In fact, it’s essential to your health and well-being.

The founder of “Laugh to Live” will give a workshop on “Laughter” and its importance at 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 22, in the fourth floor ballroom of the Patrick & Margaret DeNaples Center at The University of Scranton. The event is free and open to the public.

“Laugh to Live,” an organization offering laughter exercise/yoga classes, team building-exercises, presentations using laughter and consultant services, was founded by Luby in an effort to promote laughter as a “free, natural resource” that can help people better cope with challenges in their lives.

The World Laughter Tour, an organization that promotes world peace and health through laughter, has named Luby a Certified Laughter Leader. She holds a master’s degree in communication arts and has more than eight years’ experience in health care.

The Laughter workshop is sponsored by The University of Scranton’s Office of Equity and Diversity, and the Scranton Chapter of NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness).
