Wycliffe Gordon, seen performing at The University of Scranton’s 2006 Commencement, will join Eric Reed at a performance at The University of Scranton on Saturday, Oct. 18, at 7:30 p.m. in the Houlihan-McLean Center.

Performance Music at The University of Scranton will present WE, a duo concert by pianist Eric Reed and trombonist Wycliffe Gordon. The performance, which is free and open to the public, is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 18, at 7:30 p.m. in the Houlihan-McLean Center (corner of Mulberry St. and Jefferson Ave.).

Award-winning trombonist Gordon, who received an honorary doctorate from The University of Scranton in 2006, has performed and recorded throughout the world with an extensive roster of the greatest jazz musicians of our time, and is also internationally recognized for his work as a composer, conductor, arranger, educator, and musical ambassador. Reed, a native of Philadelphia, has performed and or recorded with the Wynton Marsalis Septet, Freddie Hubbard, Joe Henderson, The Lincoln Jazz Orchestra, Elvin Jones, Benny Carter, Wayne Shorter, Ron Carter, Cassandra Wilson, Jimmy Heath, Clark Terry, Dianne Reeves, Marian McPartland, Natalie Cole, Patti LaBelle, Jessye Norman, Quincy Jones, and many others.
