May 26, 2009

The University of Scranton recently donated $25,000 to the Connell Park Baseball Association for the improvement of fencing on the hardball field at Connell Park, where the university's men's baseball team plays and practices. Over six hundred feet of fencing was installed. The fencing was installed on the first base side, third base side and the entire outfield this spring.  The University  of Scranton engineer's time was also donated to specify, competitively bid and manage the project.  Shown near the new fence are, from left: Francis "Toby" Lovecchio, director of athletics at The University of Scranton; Peter Petrucci, president, Connell Park Baseball Association; Michael Bartoletti, head baseball coach, The University of Scranton; Mark Murphy, assistant director of utilities and engineer, The University of Scranton; and Pat Belardi, Connell Park Baseball Association board member.
