Wyoming Seminary/PAI Civic Symphony Orchestra to Perform at Scranton

The Wyoming Seminary/PAI Civic Symphony Orchestra will close its ninth season of performances with a concert on Tuesday, May 12, at 7:30 pm in the Houlihan-McLean Center on the campus of The University of Scranton. The event is free and open to the public.

Jerome Campbell of Wyoming Seminary will conduct and direct the 70-member ensemble in a concert entitled “The German Romantics,” featuring a performance of the Max Bruch “Violin Concerto in G” with violin soloist Tsung-Cheng Feng, the overture “Morning, Noon and Night in Vienna” by Franz von Suppe, and the Pennsylvania premier performance of the monumental orchestral fantasy-piece based on the Martin Luther hymn tune “A Mighty Fortress is our God” by Joachim Raff.

The Wyoming Seminary/PAI Civic Symphony, based at Wyoming Seminary, is comprised of exceptional student musicians, amateur adult musicians and professional musicians from the region. They will also perform the same concert program on Monday, May 11 at 8:00 p.m. at The Great Hall at Wyoming Seminary in Kingston.
