The University of Scranton Appoints New Assistant Vice President for Facilities Operations
The University of Scranton has appointed James Devers as the assistant vice president for facilities operations. Devers will oversee all University facilities, academic buildings and residence hall operations, grounds care and landscaping, and construction, renovations and facilities project management.
Devers, a resident of West Pittston, joined The University of Scranton in 1985 as a staff architect and has since served as director of physical plant. For 15 years prior to joining Scranton, Devers worked as a draftsman and project architect for the firm Bohlin Cywinski Jackson.
A magna cum laude graduate from The University of Scranton, Devers also earned an associates degree from Luzerne County Community College. He is a member and past president of the Delaware Valley Chapter of the Association of Higher Education facilities Officers (APPA) and a member of the Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities Facilities Directors.
Devers and his wife, Gail, are the parents of two daughters, Alison and Megan.
