Liva Arts Company Takes the Stage with ‘Rent’
The University of Scranton’s student-run musical
theatre group, the Liva Arts Company, will present Jonathan Larson’s musical
“Rent” April 14 – 17 in the Jefferson Auditorium of Leahy Hall.
“Rent” is a Tony Award-winning rock opera written
and composed by Jonathan Larson. The musical is based on Larson’s own life and
tells the story of young artists and musicians living in New York’s Lower East
Side during the 1980s.
Performances begin at 8 p.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday; and 2 p.m. on Sunday. Tickets are $10 or $5 for senior citizens or University of Scranton students with Royal ID card. Tickets will be on sale April 11 – 15 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the DeNaples Center. Tickets can be purchased at the door.
The Liva Arts Company has been providing musical theatre to the Scranton community since 1990.
