Students Place Fourth in District Competition of National Advertising Contest

Students from The University of Scranton competed against nearly 150 teams representing colleges and universities from across the country in the 2012 American Advertising Federation’s National Student Advertising Competition. The student teams created and presented comprehensive advertising campaigns for Nissan Americas that focused on the Nissan brand as it relates to multicultural audiences. The University of Scranton team placed fourth of the 17 teams that participated in the District 2 Competition held recently in New York City.  The winning teams from 15 district competitions advanced to the final round of the contest, which will be held in June in Austin, Texas.

The Scranton team participated as part of a two-semester course taught by Communication Professor Stacy Smulowitz, Ph.D. candidate.
