International Efforts to Combat Firearms Trafficking Discussed at April 8 Lecture

The deputy chief of international affairs of the U.S. Department of Justice Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) will discuss “International Efforts to Combat Firearms Trafficking” at The University of Scranton at a lecture on Monday, April 8, at 4:30 p.m. in the Rose Room of Brennan Hall. The lecture by William Kullman ’80, a University of Scranton alumnus who has served at deputy chief since 2009, is sponsored by the Criminal Justice Department at The University of Scranton, free of charge and open to the public.

As a senior policy and legal advisor on international agreements on arms and explosives, Kullman has expertise on efforts combating illicit arms trafficking internationally, as well as international and national security issues.

Kullman previously served the ATF as the executive assistant for enforcement programs and as senior counsel. Earlier in his career, he worked for the law firm of Drinker, Biddle & Reath of Philadelphia and in the honors program at the Department of Treasury. He also served as an adjunct professor at The George Washington University School of Law, Washington, D.C.

Kullman earned a master’s degree from Loyola University of Chicago, Chicago, Ill., and a juris doctorate from Temple University Beasley School of Law, Philadelphia, where he was article editor of the Temple Law Review.
