University Students Sort Hundreds of Donated Gifts

University of Scranton students, faculty and staff donated hundreds of presents to children in need through two Christmas gift drives organized by the Jesuit university’s Center for Service and Social Justice. More than 400 gifts donated through the Giving Tree program were distributed to children through age 14 by the United Neighborhood Centers, Friends of the Poor and area group homes. In addition, through the Adopt an Angel program, 72 sponsors “adopted” specific children from the Moosic and Taylor area Head Start program, donating to them “toy wishes” and clothing.
