President of St. Joseph’s Center To Give Principal Address at Graduate Commencement


Sister Maryalice Jacquinot, IHM, president and CEO of St. Joseph’s Center in Scranton, will serve as the principal speaker at The University of Scranton’s graduate school commencement. She will also receive an honorary degree from the University at the ceremony, which will be held on Saturday, May 31, at 10:45 a.m. at the Byron Recreation Complex.

Sr. Maryalice is a member of the Congregation of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary in Scranton. Since 2010, she has served as the president and CEO of St. Joseph’s Center, which offers residential and community-based programs for children and adults with intellectual and physical disabilities, as well as maternity and family services.

Previously, Sr. Maryalice was the president and CEO of Friends of the Poor, an outreach ministry sponsored by the IHM Congregation, and she served in various roles at Marywood University, the former Marian Community Hospital and Maxis Health System in Carbondale, Pa.

An active community volunteer, Sr. Maryalice is a current member and past president of the Board of Directors of the Employment Opportunity and Training Center of Northeastern PA. She is currently a board member of the Marywood University Alumni Association and the Pennsylvania Advocacy and Resources for Autism and Intellectual Disabilities. In addition, she is a past president and board member of American Cancer Society.

Sr. Maryalice received her bachelor’s degree in social sciences/secondary education and a master’s degree in counseling from Marywood University and later earned a master’s degree in mission leadership at Neumann University, Aston.
