University Hosts Screening of Taiwanese Film
The University of Scranton will host a screening of the 1993 film “The Wedding Banquet” directed by Ang Lee on Thursday, Oct. 2, at 6:45 p.m. in the PNC Auditorium of the Loyola Science Center. A before-film talk and after-film question and answer session will be presented by Philip Mosley, professor or English and comparative literature at Penn State, Worthington Scranton campus, who has written three books on the cinema.
The event is free of charge and open to the public.
The event is co-presented by the University’s Asian Studies Program and the Taiwan Ministry of Culture – Taipei Cultural Center of TECO in New York, in collaboration with the Philosophy Department of Marywood University. The program is supported by special patron Dr. Samuel Yin, a Spotlight Taiwan Grant and a University of Scranton – Marywood University Collaborative Grant.
