University of Scranton student Christopher LoGiurato was selected to participate in the 2015-2016 Google Student Ambassador Program.

The program prepares students to act as liaisons between Google and their respective college campuses to demonstrate Google’s projects and how those projects can be implemented at a collegiate level.

Students apply to the national program, and those selected spend a week at Google headquarters for a Google Student Ambassador Summit, and then conduct events on campus during the school year.

In the U.S., the Google Student Ambassador Program typically accepts more than 100 applicants who represent more than 100 universities each year. Google selects applicants who are familiar with their products and are involved with student organizations and activities on their campuses. Students participating enhance their leadership and communication skills, and gain access to a worldwide network of Google Ambassadors.

A member of the University’s Class of 2016, LoGiurato of Wilton, Connecticut, is majoring in business administration and entrepreneurship. He is the founder, president and CEO of Wayne House Designs, a student club of the University’s Kania School of Management through which student entrepreneurs develop products and run their own businesses.

LoGiurato was also among just 123 students from 52 higher education institutions in the nation named as a 2015 University Innovation Fellow by the National Center for Engineering Pathways to Innovation.

A dean’s list student, LoGiurato is a member of the Entrepreneurship Mentor Team, the Business Club and the Mountain Sports Club. He also serves as president of the Entrepreneurship Club.
