The University of Scranton to Hold Financial Aid Workshop in January
The University of Scranton will hold a financial aid workshop for prospective students and their parents on Thursday, Jan. 21, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the fourth-floor Moskovitz Theater of the DeNaples Center. The workshop will include a review of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and provide information regarding the University’s academic scholarship and need-based assistance programs. Each year, the University awards approximately $18 million in institutional assistance to approximately 900 local students.
The program will also include information on federal- and state-aid programs, student and parent loans, and alternative financing options. Participants will be shown how to calculate the cost of attendance at Scranton.
William Burke, director of financial aid at the University, will speak at the event. Staff from the University’s Admissions Office will also be available as well to answer questions.
In the case of inclement weather, the workshop will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 26, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the same location.
Reservations are suggested to attend and can be made at www.scranton.edu/finaidworkshop.
