Program Examines the Future of Scranton

Apr 11, 2016

On Monday, April 18, a panel of local government, civic, economic, educational and cultural leaders will conduct a symposium titled “Scranton’s Future: What’s Next?”

Scranton is celebrating its 150th anniversary by choosing its future. A collaborative movement has been formed, committed to creating a new vision for the city and the region that builds on our strengths and finds creative solutions to our problems.

Moderated by Sondra Myers, the panel will discuss its vision and strategy for creating a new Scranton. Presented by the University’s Schemel Forum, in collaboration with Scranton’s 150th Anniversary Committee and the University’s Office of Community and Government Relations, this program will take place from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Kane Forum at Leahy Hall. A reception will follow. The program is free of charge and open to the public.

To register, contact Emily Brees, Schemel Forum assistant, at 570-941-6206 or emily.brees@scranton.edu.
