‘It’s On US Scranton’ To Host Awareness Event

The Office of Institutional Compliance (OIC) and Title IX again was awarded a grant from the “It’s On US PA” state fund to promote the campaign that raises awareness of the positive effects of bystander engagement in situations that could result in harassment, discrimination and sexual misconduct.
OIC will host informational and pledge tables with free T-shirts featuring the new Royal Wolf logo on Thursday, Sept. 25 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the fireplace lounge of second floor DeNaples Center.
Students, staff and faculty are invited to watch a short video, take the pledge, get a free T-shirt, and enter to win prizes, including a $100 Starbucks gift card or a $100 University Bookstore gift card.
“Students, staff and faculty are encouraged to stand up safely and be Royals for others,” said Jennifer Pennington, administrative assistant in the OIC. “Each of us can put the brakes on the behaviors that could negatively change the course of a classmate’s or co-worker’s life just by speaking up or stepping in at the right time,” said Pennington.
Campus community members are invited to stop by between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Sep. 25. No registration is required.
