Q: Why would you recommend someone join The Aquinas, the student newspaper?

The Aquinas, in my mind, serves as a club to enhance a student’s writing and editing skills, which is beneficial in any field of work.

Q: Why did you join the club?

I joined the club when I was a sophomore, and I joined through the club fair. I wanted to solidify and strengthen my writing skills and had ambitions to grow the sports page for The Aquinas. Through my time with the club in the past year and a half, I have become a far better writer, a better reporter and a better editor!

Q: When and where does club meet and how can someone who is interested find out more about it?

We meet biweekly on Tuesdays, where we discuss possible articles for the next issue, upcoming events that are happening within the University, and newsworthy issues that happen in the city of Scranton that can affect the students on and off campus. If it’s your tenth time or your first time coming to the meetings, you are always more than welcome to be a part of it. It’s as simple as coming into The Aquinas office and saying hi!

Q: Any upcoming plans?

We continue to grow our new video segment for the club called “What’s New on the Royal Radar,” which was created by our social media manager, Libby Dockett. With the growth of Royal Radar, we get the ability to interview local business owners and cover local events here at Scranton to shed light on the amazing shops and events here in our city!
