University of Scranton Appoints Vice President of Human Resources
Patricia A. Day has been appointed the first vice president of human resources for The University of Scranton.
Before joining the University, Ms. Day was a labor relations and employment issues consultant, and served as director of labor relations and labor counsel for the Massachusetts Port Authority. Additionally, she was chief labor relations officer for the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority, Philadelphia. Her responsibilities in these and other positions throughout her career included training, compensation, benefits, employee evaluation, wellness, recruitment and retention.
Ms. Day is a member of the Women Transportation Seminar, International, a professional development organization for women in the transportation field, and she served on the board of its Boston chapter. She received the 2004 Boston Labor Guild’s Cushing-Gavin Award, which recognizes moral integrity, professional competence and community concern in the field of labor-management relations.
Ms. Day earned a bachelor of arts degree from Boston College, and a juris doctorate from Suffolk University Law School
