The University of Scranton to Hold Financial Aid Workshop
The University of Scranton will conduct a Financial Aid Workshop for prospective students and their parents on Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2011, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the Moscovitz Theater of the DeNaples Center. Discussing the workshop, which will include a review of the FAFSA and details regarding the University’s academic scholarship and need-based assistance programs, are, from left: Patricia Cegelka, assistant director of financial aid; Jonathan Kirby, assistant director of financial aid; Melissa Bevacqua, associate director for outreach for admissions; and William Burke, director of financial aid.
The University of Scranton will conduct a Financial Aid Workshop for prospective students and their parents that will include a review of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and details regarding the Jesuit university’s academic scholarship and need-based assistance programs. Each year, The University of Scranton awards approximately $18 million in institutional assistance to close to 1,200 local students.
The workshop, presented by William Burke, director
of financial aid at The University of Scranton, will be held on Tuesday, Jan.
18, 2011, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the fourth floor Moskovitz Theater of
DeNaples Center on campus.
The
program will also include information on federal- and state-aid programs,
student and parent loans and alternative financing options. Participants will
be shown how to calculate the cost of attendance at The University of Scranton.
Staff
from the university’s Admissions Office will be available to answer questions.
In the case of inclement weather, the workshop will be held on Monday, Jan. 24, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the same location.
