Leadership Conference Targets Area College Students

The University of Scranton will host a leadership conference open to students attending colleges throughout northeast Pennsylvania on Saturday, Feb. 18.

The interactive conference, entitled “Ignite: Student Leadership Conference,” includes presentations and small group meetings to help students develop skills needed to become effective leaders on their campuses and in their careers.

The conference will feature an opening and closing keynote address by Anthony J. D’Angelo, founder and chief visionary officer for Collegiate Empowerment, which is an Easton firm that offers leadership and development programs for students, as well as professionals working in higher education. According to its website, Collegiate Empowerment has worked with more than 2,100 colleges and universities throughout the country.

Registration starts at 9:30 a.m. in the DeNaples Center, with the opening keynote address by D’Angelo beginning at 10 a.m. The conference concludes at 4 p.m. The program fee of $25 for non-University of Scranton students includes program materials, lunch and refreshments. The conference is free to University of Scranton students. Pre-registration is required to attend.
