Graduates Commissioned as Second Lieutenants

Fifteen members of The University of Scranton’s class of 2012 along with graduates of Marywood University were commissioned as second lieutenants in the U.S. Army during the Jesuit school’s commencement exercises held recently on campus. The University of Scranton ROTC graduates who were commissioned at the ceremony are Christina Bayard, Point Lookout, N.Y.; Katlyn Brewington, Lebanon, Maine; Jenna Caserta, Lansdowne; Evan Dimakas, Oradell, N.J.; Aileena Flynn, La Plata, Md.; Coren France, Lackawaxen; Thomas Graham, Chambersburg; Thomas Heintz, Washingtonville, N.Y.; Michael Horan, Massapequa, N.Y.; Sidney Jaques, Rosemont, N.J.; Robert McGregor, Montpelier, Vt.; Emily Rainey, Mechanicsburg; Zachary Rubino, Chatham, N.J.; Stephen Siwinski, Towson, Md.; and Joshua Soto, Scranton.

In addition to The University of Scranton graduates, Natasha Rivera, Vancouver, Wash., Benjamin Slechta, Manchester, Md., and Andrew Wycheck, Harrisburg, of Marywood University were also commissioned at the ceremony.

Col. Reese Turner, U.S. Army Human Resources Command Division Chief for Maneuver, Fires and Effects, Fort Knox, Ky., served as guest speaker and delivered the oath of office to the cadets.
