Weinberg Memorial Library Celebrates 20th Anniversary

The University of Scranton’s celebration of the 20th anniversary of the Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Memorial Library presented recently “Native Son: Stephen Karam in Conversation with Paul Holdengraber.” Karam, a Scranton native and award-winning playwright, is the author of “Sons of the Prophet,” “Speech & Debate” and “columbinus.” Holdengraber is the director of public programs at the New York Public Library. Standing from left are, Charles E. Kratz, dean of the library and information fluency; Holdengraber; Sondra Myers, director of the Schemel Forum at The University of Scranton; and Karam. The event is part of a 20th Anniversary Lecture Series sponsored by The Friends of the Weinberg Memorial Library, in collaboration with the Schemel Forum. The final lecture of the series, entitled “War and Peace: Current Issues” by Daniel Serwer of Johns Hopkins University, will take place Tuesday, March 5, 2013.
