University Club Hosts Fundraiser at RailRiders Game to Support ALS Research
The University of Scranton ALS Awareness Club will host a fundraiser Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders game on Sunday, May 11.
A portion of the proceeds from ticket sales for the RailRiders game against the Durham Bulls will support research on amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), also know as Lou Gehrig’s disease. The club will donate the funds received from this event to organizations such as A Midwinter Night’s Dream, the Packard Center and other ALS organizations.
The game starts at 1:05 p.m. at the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders PNC Stadium and coincides with RailRiders Family FUNday, which includes pre-game autographs and a children’s run around the bases, post-game.
To support the ALS Awareness Club fundraiser, the tickets, which cost $8, must be purchased by contacting uofsalsawarenessclub@gmail.com, or by calling the University at 570-941-4094, or Rob McLane at RailRiders at 570-969-2255 ext. 3130.
May is national ALS Awareness Month.
The ALS Awareness Club at the University hosts various events on- and off-campus to raise awareness of ALS, to raise funds for non-profit ALS organizations, and to assist with patient support programs.
