Constitution Day Program Planned at The University of Scranton
The University of Scranton will offer a workshop entitled “Citizens Writing to Change Their Communities” for Constitution Day. The workshop will explore the importance of engaging in public discourse, such as writing letters to the editor, and will offer guidelines for writing such letters.
The workshop will begin at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 17, in the McIlhenny Ballroom of the DeNaples Center. It is free of charge and open to the public.
Speakers include Jean Harris, Ph.D., professor of political science at The University of Scranton, and Stephanie Longo, editor of the Abington Weekly and vice president and northeast district director of the Pennsylvania Women’s Press Association, among others.
The event is sponsored by the Pennsylvania Women’s Press Association, the Jane Kopas Women’s Center, the Women’s Studies Program and the Department of Communication at The University of Scranton.
