Approximately 70 4th graders and teachers from McNichols Plaza Elementary School visited campus on May 9. As part of a community partnership over the past three years, the University has helped to arrange multiple visits to campus, as well as visits and programs that bring University students to the elementary school in South Scranton throughout the spring and fall semesters.

University faculty, staff, and students arranged STEM-based activities for the morning which included: the skeletal system, the circulatory system in zebrafish and worms, capillary action in plants and interacting with live animals.

These activities are made possible thanks to the University of Scranton's Strategic Initiatives funding as well as a 2018 grant from the Robert H. Spitz Foundation to support STEAM education. Learn more here.
