The Center for Health Education & Wellness to Sponsor Employee Wellness Day for Faculty and Staff on Tuesday, March 17, 2020

The University of Scranton?s Center for Health Education & Wellness (CHEW) will host the University?s annual Wellness Day for Faculty and Staff on Tuesday, March 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on campus. Each year over 350 employees attend a variety of health and wellness events throughout the day.

Wellness Day will feature a keynote speaker, health fair with screenings, free lunch in the Fresh Food Company and more than 25 workshops such as, “Not Just a Paper Cut- Preventing Common Arm Injuries at Work," “Yin Yoga 101,” “Pickleball,” “Inside Money: Managing Income and Debt,” “Hands Only CPR,” “Healthy Plants Healthy People."

Dr. Jumee Barooah, M.D., will provide the keynote address, “Holistic Medicine and Self Care: Connecting Physical and Mental Health,” which will focus on the critical role that mental health and self-care play in our physical health and overall well-being. Dr. Jumee Barooah serves as The Wright Center for Graduation Medical Education's Designated Institutional Official and serves as an Internal Medicine physician at the Mid Valley clinic certified in Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT).

Employees can register to attend Wellness Day events by completing the registration form on the Employee Wellness website by Friday, March 13.
