Downtown Businesses Offer Special Promotion for Students

The holidays are just around the corner, and before the extended holiday break, University of Scranton students have a special opportunity to bring home unique items and gifts from the city of Scranton. Local nonprofit Scranton Tomorrow has collaborated with the Scranton downtown business community to offer a special “Home For The Holidays” shopping for college and university students. Through this special promotion, students can get an early start on their holiday shopping while social distancing, masking up and staying safe through multiple methods to shop, including curbside options.

The “Home For The Holidays” promotion began on Friday, Nov. 14 and will continue through Sunday, Nov. 21. Students attending Scranton colleges and universities can enjoy special incentives, discounts and promotions from more than 25 businesses in Downtown Scranton with the presentation of a valid student ID.

“Our Downtown Small Business Community enjoys welcoming students all year round but especially around the holiday season. 'Home for the Holidays' is a great opportunity for students to support their favorite local businesses and bring a piece of Scranton home with them,” said Liz Baldi, project coordinator with Scranton Tomorrow.

Many businesses participating in this project also offer multiple ways for students to shop safely. Downtown restaurants have curbside pick-up and delivery options available. Retailers are also making special accommodations for patrons by offering private shopping appointments, limiting the number of patrons in the store and by offering curbside pickup.

Participating businesses include: RD Hair Salon & Blowdry Bar, RD Brow and Lash Bar, TRYBE Boutique Fitness Studio, The Daisy Collective, The Workshop, Tammy's Stained Glass Treasures, The Giving Tree Wellness Center, B's Floral Design, Inc., Freedlove, Veloce Bikeworks, Burlap & Bourbon, The Garden Mediterranean Restaurant, Adezzo, The Mane Room, Downtown Deli and Eatery, Runway Luxury Boutique, Electric City Bakehouse, Meat in the Middle Deli, Rain Tree, Noteology, Tom Grudis Optical/The Bare Accessories, POSH at SC, Over the Moon & Northern Light Espresso Bar and Cafe.
