Yadin-Israel, Author and Professor, Presents Judaic Studies Lecture

Azzan Yadin-Israel, Ph.D., recently visited The University of Scranton as its featured speaker at the Weinberg Judaic Studies Institute Lecture.
Dr. Yadin-Israel’s presented “Solving the Mystery of Adam and Eve’s Forbidden Fruit” on Friday, Nov. 13, at the Pearn Auditorium in Brennan Hall. The speech was free and open to the public.
Dr. Yadin-Israel is the chair and professor of Jewish studies at Rutgers University and the author of the 2022 book, “Temptation Transformed: The Story of How the Forbidden Fruit Became an Apple.”
The Weinberg Judaic Studies Institute was founded in 1979 through an endowment funded by the local Jewish community. The Institute was further funded in 1990 by a $1 million gift from Harry Weinberg. The lecture series has hosted numerous events and scholarly speakers throughout the years, fostering an appreciation for and understanding of Judaism, Israel and their histories.
