New Pregnancy Accommodation Policy for Employees

The University of Scranton recently approved a Pregnancy Accommodation Policy for employees to become effective on Feb. 1, 2020.  The policy was created to provide faculty and staff with a clear process in which to request work accommodations due to pregnancy, in compliance with the Pregnancy Discrimination Act and the Americans with Disabilities Act.  Among other items, this policy includes:

·       The procedure for requesting accommodations

·       A description of the interactive request process

·       Supervisors’ obligations

·       Forms of pregnancy accommodations, and more. 

The Office of Equity and Diversity will be holding informational sessions on the Pregnancy Accommodation Policy in the Pearn Auditorium, Brennan Hall 228 on the following dates and times. 

·       Wednesday, Feb. 12 at 3:30 p.m.

·       Tuesday, March 3 at 12:30 p.m.

The policy will be available on the Office of Equity and Diversity website, under the “Laws & Policies” tab, effective 12:01 a.m., Feb. 1, 2020.
